Ask AI, Check Elsewhere

The habit professional fact-checkers use.

AI can sound sure and still be wrong. It can even make up sources. If an answer includes something that matters, like a fact, number, date, link or quote, check it elsewhere.

How to check in under 5 minutes:

  1. Open a new tab. Don't ask the same chatbot "Are you sure?" Its answer isn't a check.
  2. Go to the original. The official website, the actual document, or the agency itself.
  3. Find the exact spot. If you can't find the fact or quote there, don't use it.
  4. Check the date. Laws, prices, and settings change.

Why it works: Fact-checkers judge unfamiliar information by leaving the page and seeing what trusted sources say. In a 2019 study, that approach led to better-founded conclusions in a fraction of the time.

A helpful check, not a guarantee.

Try it now (about 5 minutes)

Copy the words in the box. Paste them into any free AI chat tool. Fill in the [brackets].

Look over the answer you just gave me. List every fact, date, number or rule I should check on an official website before I act on it.

Leave out names, account numbers and passwords. Check anything important somewhere else.
